I’m feeling valued
Feeling valued arises when we experience recognition, appreciation, and affirmation for who we are and what we contribute. It’s your heart signaling that you are being acknowledged for your efforts, worth, or presence in the world. Being valued fosters a sense of belonging, confidence, and purpose. While it’s wonderful to feel valued by others, it’s important to remember that our ultimate value comes from God, who has created us with purpose and loves us unconditionally.
What You Might Be Feeling Right Now
You might feel appreciated, acknowledged, and recognized for your strengths, contributions, or character. This feeling could stem from a compliment, a thoughtful gesture, or a genuine expression of gratitude from someone around you. When we feel valued, we feel more secure and confident, knowing that our worth is seen and affirmed. You might feel more motivated to continue giving your best, knowing that your efforts are appreciated and meaningful.
God’s Heart for You in Feeling Valued
Psalm 139:13-14
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
God has made you fearfully and wonderfully. Your value is inherent in the fact that you were created by a loving God, and He sees you as precious and significant. This truth serves as the foundation of your worth, far beyond external validation.
Matthew 10:29-31
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
God values you deeply, even more than the sparrows. This passage reminds us that we are seen, known, and cared for by God. His value for us is not based on what we do, but on who we are in His eyes—His beloved children.
1 Peter 2:9
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
You are valued because you are God’s special possession. He has called you out of darkness into His light, making you a part of His royal family. This divine value is not dependent on human recognition but is grounded in His love and calling for your life.
What You Can Do Right Now
- Reflect on Your Value in God’s Eyes: Take a moment to reflect on your inherent worth in God’s eyes. You are valued not because of your performance or achievements, but because God has made you His beloved child, chosen and precious.
- Celebrate Your Strengths: If you’re feeling valued, acknowledge the strengths, gifts, and contributions you bring to the table. Celebrate the unique ways God has designed you to impact the world.
- Express Gratitude for the People Who Value You: When others show you value, express gratitude. Thank them for their encouragement or recognition, and let them know how much their acknowledgment means to you.
- Value Yourself: Self-value is rooted in knowing that you are worthy in God’s eyes. Take time to recognize and affirm your own worth, not in pride, but in humility and confidence in God’s love.
- Encourage Others: Use your feeling of being valued to encourage others. Remind them of their worth and show them the respect and recognition they deserve. When we value others, we reflect God’s love.
A Prayer for This Moment
"Lord, I’m feeling valued, and I thank You for the ways You remind me of my worth. Thank You for making me fearfully and wonderfully, and for choosing me as Your child. Help me to rest in the knowledge that my true value comes from You, not from what I achieve or how others see me. Please guide me to value myself and others as You do, with love and respect. May I reflect Your heart of love and care to everyone I meet. Amen."
