A Prayer for Realignment

Father, You know my heart better than I do. You see the hidden motives, the values I’ve clung to, and the priorities I’ve built my life around (Jeremiah 17:10). Too often, I have chased self-idealized versions of myself — pictures of who I thought I had to become in order to be safe, loved, or successful. These false versions have ruled my decisions, my energy, and my emotions.

Today, I lay those versions down at Your feet. I repent for elevating my own Motives, Values, and Priorities above Yours. Your Word says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6). Lord, I choose Your path over mine.

Realign my heart so that I live for Your approval, not my own perfection. Realign my values so that I treasure what You treasure — righteousness, mercy, humility, and faithfulness. Realign my priorities so that I seek first the kingdom of God and trust You to provide what I need (Matthew 6:33).

Strip away every ambition rooted in pride, fear, or comparison. Replace it with a desire to walk in obedience and intimacy with You. Restore my hope by reminding me that greatness in Your kingdom is not found in grandiosity, but in surrender and service (Mark 10:43–45).

I submit my motives, values, and priorities to You afresh. Align my life with Your truth so that everything I am flows from Your will.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
