A Prayer for Reformation & Restoration

Jesus, You came that I might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Yet I confess that I have lived in survival mode — fragmented, exhausted, and often resentful, as though You were withholding good from me. The Productivity Gospel™ has taught me to defer joy, delay rest, and live in constant discontent. But today, I invite You to reform and restore every part of my life.

Holy Spirit, give me the fruit of self-control, not as willpower, but as freedom to live disciplined and whole (Galatians 5:22–23). Teach me to pace myself with wisdom. Reform my habits so that they honor my body, renew my emotions, and align with kingdom rhythms of rest and work. Free me from deferred living — waiting for a “someday” that never comes — and teach me to embrace the life You’ve already placed in my hands.

Lord, restore what survival mode has stolen. Restore my capacity for play, creativity, and excitement. Restore joy where weariness has settled, hope where disappointment has lingered, and peace where anxiety has ruled. Let my emotions no longer be suppressed or distorted, but serve as signals that guide me back into deeper dependence on You.

Father, I receive the wholeness that Christ purchased for me. Re-form me from the inside out, and restore me so that my life reflects freedom, joy, and abiding. May my rhythms, my relationships, and my emotions testify that You are my restorer.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
