Hey friend!
Welcome to Women at the Well, a space intentionally built for real talk, growth, and connection—without the noise of performance or perfection. You belong here. Whether you're feeling strong or struggling, confident or questioning, this community is where you can show up as you are.
Why This Space Exists
Women at the Well is inspired by one of the most transformative encounters in the Bible—the story of the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4). Let’s take a moment to reflect on her story and why it matters here.
The Encounter
Jesus intentionally goes to Samaria—a place most Jews avoided—and meets a woman drawing water at Jacob’s well. This woman is no stranger to brokenness. She’s lived through multiple relationships and is now living with a man who isn't her husband. In her community, she’s likely seen as an outcast, drawing water at noon when no one else is around.
But here’s what’s profound: Jesus doesn’t avoid her. He doesn’t shame her. Instead, He initiates the conversation by asking for a drink. This simple act breaks cultural and social barriers—Jews didn’t associate with Samaritans, let alone Samaritan women. But Jesus isn’t just starting a dialogue; He’s inviting her into something deeper.
The Transformation
What happens next is radical. Jesus gently reveals that He knows her story—every painful, messy part of it—and still offers her Living Water. In that moment, she’s seen, known, and loved, and it changes everything. She runs back to the very people who shunned her and declares, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.” (John 4:29)
This woman went from being guarded and isolated to being bold and honest—all because she encountered Jesus who saw her fully and loved her completely.
Why We're Not Like Other Communities
In a world of constant comparison, curated images, and endless notifications, social media often feels like a performance stage. But not here. Women at the Well isn’t about showing up perfectly—it’s about showing up authentically.
-
No Performative Spirituality: You don’t have to wrap your pain in religious platitudes. We’re here for honest struggles and real questions.
-
No Validation Seeking: Your value doesn’t come from likes or shares. It’s rooted in being loved by God and being seen by this community.
-
No Curation: We’re not curating our lives to look polished and put together. We’re practicing honesty, vulnerability, and grace.
Just like the woman at the well, you don’t have to carry your story alone. You don’t have to hide your hard parts. We show up messy, we share, and we leave changed—together.
Community Guidelines
Here’s how we keep this space sacred and safe:
