I’m feeling grief

Grief is the deep ache we feel when something or someone we care about is lost. It shows us just how much that person, relationship, or experience meant to us. Grief is heavy, and it doesn’t follow a straight path—it comes in waves, reminding us that love and loss are deeply connected.

What You Might Be Feeling Right Now

You might feel overwhelmed by sadness, emptiness, or even shock. Some moments may feel numb, while others are full of raw emotion. You could be experiencing anger, guilt, or regret along with your sorrow. There’s no wrong way to grieve, but it can feel like the pain will never end.

God’s Heart for You in Grief

Psalm 34:18
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
God is not distant in your grief—He is near, holding you in His love and offering comfort.

Matthew 5:4
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
Jesus acknowledges your pain and promises that His comfort is available, even in the darkest moments.

Revelation 21:4
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain."
This verse offers hope for the future. One day, grief will be no more, and God will bring perfect restoration.

What You Can Do Right Now

  • Allow yourself to feel. Cry if you need to, sit with the sadness, and know it’s okay to grieve in your own way.
  • Talk to God honestly. Tell Him about the pain and let Him carry the weight with you.
  • Write down your memories or feelings to help process the loss.
  • Reach out to a trusted friend, pastor, or counselor for support. Grief can feel isolating, but you don’t have to go through it alone.
  • Take care of yourself physically. Eat, rest, and move gently through the day, even if it’s hard.

A Prayer for This Moment

"Lord, my heart is heavy with grief. The pain feels too much to bear, and I don’t know how to move forward. Thank You for being close to me in this brokenness. Please comfort me and hold me as I mourn. Help me to trust You with my sadness and remind me that You are my healer. Thank You for the hope of restoration and the promise that this pain won’t last forever. Amen."
