I’m feeling hurt
When we feel hurt, it’s often because someone or something has touched a tender place in our heart. Hurt can stem from betrayal, rejection, or unmet expectations, leaving us feeling exposed and vulnerable. It’s a signal that something needs attention—whether that’s healing, boundaries, or a deeper look at the situation.
What You Might Be Feeling Right Now
You might feel a deep ache, like a wound that hasn’t been tended to. It could come with anger, frustration, or sadness, especially if the hurt came from someone you trusted. You might also feel conflicted, wondering if you should protect yourself or risk vulnerability again.
God’s Heart for You in Hurt
Psalm 147:3
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
God is not distant from your pain. He is the ultimate healer, ready to tend to every emotional and spiritual wound.
Isaiah 41:10
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
God’s strength is available to you, even when you feel too broken to stand on your own.
Ephesians 4:32
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
While forgiveness can feel impossible in moments of deep hurt, God offers you the grace and strength to forgive, freeing your heart from bitterness.
What You Can Do Right Now
- Acknowledge the pain. Let yourself feel it instead of pushing it away. Write it down, talk it out, or cry if you need to.
- Ask God to help you process the hurt and reveal what needs healing.
- Consider whether boundaries need to be set to protect your heart while you heal.
- Share your feelings with a trusted friend or mentor who can offer wisdom and support.
- Pray for the courage to forgive if the hurt involves someone else, remembering that forgiveness is a process, not a one-time event.
A Prayer for This Moment
"Lord, my heart feels so heavy from this hurt. It’s hard to carry this pain, and I need Your healing touch. Please give me the strength to face what I’m feeling and the wisdom to know what steps to take next. If forgiveness is needed, help me to offer it with grace, just as You’ve forgiven me. Thank You for being close to me in my brokenness and for promising to bind up every wound. Amen."
